Date of Loss: January 2025
Location: Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, California
Impact:
- People Displaced: Approximately 200,000 individuals evacuated due to the fires.
- Loss of Homes: Over 14,000 structures destroyed or damaged, including residential homes and businesses.
- Loss of Acreage: More than 50,000 acres of land burned.
- Loss of Residential and Commercial Buildings: Significant damage to businesses, schools, and community centers.
- Total Loss in Dollars: Estimated at $250 billion in damages.
How You Can Help:
- Donations for temporary shelter, food, water, and medical supplies are urgently needed.
- Volunteer help for cleanup, rebuilding, and disaster recovery operations.
Date of Loss: August 2023
Location: Maui, Hawaii, specifically Lahaina
Impact:
- People Displaced: Approximately 15,000 individuals displaced.
- Loss of Homes: Over 2,000 homes completely destroyed.
- Loss of Acreage: Over 10,000 acres of land scorched.
- Loss of Residential and Commercial Buildings: More than 300 businesses affected, along with numerous schools and places of worship.
- Total Loss in Dollars: Estimated at $850 million in damages.
How You Can Help:
- Financial donations for rebuilding homes, school supplies, and business recovery.
- Volunteers to help set up temporary housing and assist with food and water distribution.

Location: North Carolina (Coastal Areas)
Impact:
- People Displaced: Around 20,000 people displaced.
- Loss of Homes: More than 4,500 homes severely damaged or destroyed.
- Loss of Acreage: Over 5,000 acres of farmland impacted, with significant flooding.
- Loss of Residential and Commercial Buildings: 700 businesses affected, as well as several schools and churches.
- Total Loss in Dollars: Estimated at $2.3 billion in property damage and infrastructure loss.
How You Can Help:
- Food drives, medical supplies, and shelter are desperately needed for affected families.
- Donations for rebuilding communities and supporting businesses to get back on their feet.
